• Company

Today, both in Germany and Europe, groku stands for high-quality plastic buckets. Our reputation as one of the leading providers of plastic packaging is owing to a high degree of flexibility and the know-how and experience gained in the course of more than 40 years on the market for injection moulding technology. By means of this, we always endeavour to satisfy the discerning demands of our customers. Our specialisation in oval, round and rectangular buckets for the food and non-food area requires consistent and continual further development of our products and processes. We gladly accept the challenge of this responsibility that allows us to continue stating that:

    groku part of your success.

  • Company Formation in Self-Directed

Our history dates back to 1938: Back then our company founder, Heinrich Großekämper, founded a brickyard in the local village Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock. After 75 years we are still remaining at our production site in Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock. Instead of producing brick stones we are now manufacturing plastic packagings for customers all over Europe.

  • The sand-lime brickwork

The H. Großekämper sand-lime brickwork has already been operated successfully since 1961. In the background you can see autoclaves, in which the sand-lime bricks are hardened. This sand-lime brickwork plant is still in existence as an independent and owner-managed plant today. More information on this can be found at www.ks-grossekaemper.de

  • New possibilities

The founding of H. Großekämper Kunststoffe GmbH & Co. KG in 1970 saw the start of plastic packaging manufacturing. The specialisation in oval plastic buckets was linked to a continual new and further development of the product range. The success of the specialisation quickly became apparent in the rapid and positive company development and the construction of a state-of-the-art machine park.

  • groku

groku – derived from Großekämper Kunststoffe – came into being in the mid 1970ies, as can be seen in the logo design draft that is depicted in the background. Initially, the logo’s purpose was pragmatic in nature, as it was used for labelling the products. After 40 years, the groku brand has successfully established itself on the market and stands for high-quality plastic packaging.

  • A Success Story

groku is growing constantly and can further expand its product portfolio. Investments are continually made in the machine park as well as in the storage areas and production halls.  The company is winning additional customers in the food and non-food industry, and the groku containers have already established themselves internationally.

  • A Question of Quality

groku entered the new millennium with a history of growth that has continued throughout the past decades – not least due to the fact that plastic packaging is very popular with customers. New container forms are continually being developed for both national and international customers. In so doing, we have succeeded in acquiring new business fields. In the meantime, the product portfolio comprises a great variety of different container sizes in the areas of oval, round and rectangular buckets.

  • Expansion

In 2010, an additional production hall was erected that is able to satisfy the high standards required by the food industry. A state-of-the-art machine park was established and the capacities expanded in the field of food packaging. Investments were also made in machines in the non-food area and corresponding peripheral equipment.

  • Anniversary

We are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Großekämper corporate group and look back with pride at a successful and eventful corporate development. The quality of the products and the ability to continue with this success in the course of the last 75 years also remain close to our hearts in the third generation of the Großekämper family, which has also been represented in the management board since 2009.

  • Sustainable growth

groku - part of your success. True to our slogan “part of your success”, we always endeavour to satisfy the discerning demands of our customers and continue to invest in our machine park. In the in-house toolshop, the customer requirements with regard to their products are designed and realised, naturally by taking account of weight optimisation and compliance with quality standards. We also develop your individual packaging – more information on this can be found at Know-How “Customer Moulds”.

Responsible dealings with resources and our environment is of particular importance for us. Our company is situated in the heart of a charming countryside that is surrounded by meadows, forests and lakes. Every day, when looking out of the window, we can clearly see what has to be preserved and what we are campaigning for.

In order to achieve this, we apply three different levers:
We are consistently working on reducing the weight of our products. This is achieved by optimising the moulds, materials and processes. In so doing, valuable raw materials and energy are saved, thanks to the reduction of the transport weight. This is good for the environment and for our customers.

By utilising recycling goods, we can significantly reduce the primary production of polypropylene, and rejected products from the production re-enter the production once again via a special recycling procedure.

Today we are able to manufacture plastic buckets from virtually 100 % recycling material. Thanks to the product design, the continually increasing share of recycling materials as well as the energy-efficient production processes, another consequence of consistently decreasing the weight is the permanent reduction of groku’s CO2 emissions.

Groku has a certified energy management system. Due to this, it can measure and track its actions and decisions with even greater accuracy. In addition to this, the system also draws attention to areas that are in need of process improvements, and this in turn leads to sustainable environmentally-friendly improvements.
